Newsletter December 2024

Dear Residents, Christmas is just a few days away, and here is the final newsletter of the year with information about the holidays, some reflections on the autumn, and a look ahead at what’s coming after the New Year.

Waste Management During Christmas

The amount of waste tends to increase during the holidays. To reduce environmental impact and keep our waste rooms tidy and pleasant, we ask you to follow these guidelines:

  • Reuse when possible: Items that others might find useful can be given a second life instead of being thrown away.
  • Recycle properly: Separate waste into the correct bins to maximize recycling:
    • Wrapping paper goes in the paper packaging bin.
    • Gift ribbons should be disposed of as residual waste.
    • Fold boxes and packaging to save space in the bins.
  • Lithium-ion batteries and electrical waste: Used e-cigarettes, mobile phones, cordless tools, nitrous oxide canisters, and toys with rechargeable batteries should be placed in the hazardous waste cabinet in the waste room. Other electrical items go in the dedicated electrical waste bin.

Important: Do not dispose of bulky waste or cardboard boxes in the trash chutes. These can block the system, leading to costly repairs.

Christmas Tree Disposal:
Järfälla kommun will collect Christmas trees on January 9th and 16th from 19:30–20:00 at Stora Torget. Please do not leave your tree outside these hours, and make sure to remove all decorations.

The mobile recycling station will also visit Barkarbystaden on January 19th from 11:00–14:00.

You can find more information about our recycling rooms here.

Monthly Maintenance Reminder: Smoke Alarms

Christmas is a time of warmth and light but also when most home fires occur. Ensure your safety by checking your smoke alarm. If you missed ”Test Your Smoke Alarm Day” on December 1st, take a moment to test it now – it’s a small action that can make a big difference.

Remember to be cautious with candles: never leave them unattended and keep them away from flammable materials. Keep fire safety equipment like extinguishers or fire blankets accessible in case of emergencies. Together, we can create a safe and joyful holiday season for everyone!

January Transition to Nabo

As of January 1st, Brf Ekonomen will officially become part of Nabo. Attached to this newsletter, you’ll find detailed information about invoices, Nabo’s website, and more.

Note: Parking invoices will still be issued through Real due to technical issues. This means you’ll receive invoices from two systems this period. We expect this to be resolved by the next billing cycle.

Apartment Temperature

As winter sets in, some residents may feel their apartments are colder than usual. This could either be due to a fault or just perception. Please review the provided guidelines if you feel your apartment is too cold.

Important: If you file a service request and the temperature is found to be within acceptable limits, you will be responsible for the cost of the inspection.

OVK in House C

The mandatory ventilation check (OVK) for House C is scheduled for week 4. Invitations have been sent via email. If you live in House C and have not received the notice, please contact the board immediately.

Inspection Updates

We’ve received the final report from the inspection measures. Most items have been resolved, but a few remaining points will be addressed after the New Year. Affected residents will be contacted directly.

This fall has been a period of intensive work, and we thank everyone for their patience and cooperation!

Shopping Carts in Entrances

We’ve noticed shopping carts being left in entrances. This is not permitted and violates our regulations, which are in place to ensure safety and order. Shopping carts can block emergency exits and create hazards.

Please respect the rules and avoid leaving shopping carts in shared spaces. If you notice someone disregarding this, kindly notify us via email. All reports will be handled confidentially. Together, we can maintain a clean and safe environment for everyone.

The Board Wishes You All a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
